FACTSHEET: Antibiotics

Infection prophylaxis and infection therapy include the use of antibiotic bone cement and other antibiotic carriers. Depending on the indication, various substances are required for local antibiosis to ensure an efficient release of the agent. There is some controversy in the international literature about the efficiency and duration required for a successful therapy. The current Factsheet summarises the results and application of antibiotics in combination with C+TBA’s allografts.

The C+TBA Process

The inactivation of viruses, bacteria and fungi while preserving the biomechanical and biological properties for bone regeneration is the goal of the C+TBA process which is illustrated in a short video.
